In his recent book, The Anxious Generation, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt writes that kids need real-world, in-person experiences to develop resilience, social skills, and confidence. When their days are filled with structured activities and screen time, they lose valuable opportunities to learn how to manage risk, solve conflicts, and build friendships—all things that come naturally through free play.

At GEMS Girls’ Clubs, we’re passionate about creating safe, faith-filled environments where girls can grow spiritually and socially. That includes space to simply be girls—playing, creating, laughing, and forming lasting bonds.

Let’s encourage and protect more opportunities for real-life connection and unhurried joy. Our girls need it more than ever.
