Where in the World?—Smanchina: a Haitian Island Girl
Smanchina’s mother, Marie Marthe, is a hardworking Christian woman who is a seamstress at an organization called Vi Bella. Most people in Smanchina’s village have a hard time buying things like food, clothing, and a place to live. Not all children go to school because school is not free. But because Smanchina’s mother regularly makes money, Smanchina has enough to eat and can attend school.
