The Esther School is a self-sustaining, Christian day-school for orphaned and under-resourced children in Chongwe, Zambia.
Students will learn to see themselves as caretakers of God’s world. In addition to typical classroom instruction, they will also learn:
To help accomplish the school’s goal of becoming self- sustaining, The Esther School utilizes solar power, reuses waste water for irrigation, includes gardens and orchards and plans to house barns for chickens, cows, and goats which students will help tend.
How student sponsorship helps:
In 2012, we will begin school with one preschool and one kindergarten class—each with 24 students. That means 48 student sponsorships of $600 each is needed for the coming school year.
Your sponsorship will make school possible.
This is the only hope of a quality education that will unlock the chains of poverty so deeply rooted in this country. A sobering lack of resources and fractured families due to HIV AIDS exist in all parts of this country.
Your sponsorship will also lift the entire community.
The supplemental educational programs that will be offered from the school will reach children’s parents, caregivers, and community members.
Together, student sponsors along with the ministry of GEMS Girls’ Clubs can bring lasting hope, a bright and promising future, and the good news of Jesus Christ to Chongwe, Zambia.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

Sponsorship is a voluntary, ongoing contribution. We ask that you make a commitment for one full year; however, you decide your commitment length. Many sponsors have said they want to make sure their sponsored child graduates from The Esther School, all twelve grades.
May I give the gift of sponsorship?
Yes! We encourage giving the gift of sponsorship. You will be able to enter the gift recipient’s information on the sponsorship form. Your gift recipient will receive a card and welcome package introducing them to The Esther School.
