In 2012, we will begin school with one preschool and one kindergarten class—each with 24 students. That means 48 student sponsorships of $600 each is needed for the coming school year. Your sponsorship will make school possible. This is the only hope of a quality education that will unlock the chains of poverty so deeply rooted in this country. A sobering lack of resources and fractured families due to HIV AIDS exist in all parts of this country.
The supplemental educational programs that will be offered from the school will reach children’s parents, caregivers, and community members. Together, student sponsors along with the ministry of GEMS Girls’ Clubs can bring lasting hope, a bright and promising future, and the good news of Jesus Christ to Chongwe, Zambia.
